Abstract

Abstract: The rapid growth of data generated by modern applications, enterprises, and digital platforms has led to the evolution of advanced data management systems. Distributed Database Management Systems (DDBMS) have emerged as a critical solution for handling large-scale, geographically dispersed data. With the integration of cloud computing, DDBMS has gained significant importance due to its scalability, flexibility, and cost-efficiency. This research paper explores the concept of distributed database management systems in cloud computing, including their architecture, characteristics, advantages, challenges, and real-world applications. The paper also highlights the role of emerging technologies and future trends shaping this domain. The study is based on a descriptive and analytical approach using secondary data sources such as research papers, journals, and industry reports. Keywords: Distributed Database, Cloud Computing, Data Scalability, Data Consistency, Big Data, Distributed Systems, Database Management System (DBMS).
