Abstract
Abstract: Emotional intelligence (EI) has emerged as a critical factor in determining leadership effectiveness and team performance. This study explores the relationship between emotional intelligence of leaders and team effectiveness in Indian organizations. Using a mixed-method approach, data was collected from 150 employees across IT, manufacturing, and service sectors in India. Statistical analysis, including correlation and regression, was performed to examine the impact of different dimensions of EI—self-awareness, self-regulation, motivation, empathy, and social skills—on team effectiveness. Findings indicate a strong positive relationship between leaders’ EI and team performance, highlighting the importance of emotional competencies in enhancing productivity, communication, and cohesion. The study provides actionable insights for organizational training and leadership development programs.
