Abstract

Abstract: This study conducts a systematic analytical review to investigate the impact of Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system implementation on business performance, with a specialized focus on the Information Technology (IT) sector. By synthesizing findings from over 70 scholarly articles, conference papers, and case studies published between 2000-2024, the research identifies and analyzes the Critical Success Factors (CSFs), performance metrics, and contextual challenges inherent to ERP projects. The analysis reveals that while ERP systems, including next-generation cloud-based platforms, significantly enhance integrated business processes, supply chain efficiency, and strategic decision-making, their success is heavily contingent upon a congruent set of organizational, technological, and human factors. The IT industry, characterized by rapid innovation and project-based work, presents unique adoption dynamics. The paper proposes a holistic performance impact framework, supported by analytical findings, and concludes with strategic implications for practitioners and avenues for future research. Keywords: Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP); Business Performance; Critical Success Factors (CSFs); IT Industry; Digital Transformation; Cloud ERP; Implementation.
