ABSTRACT: Higher education plays a transformative role in shaping national progress and global leadership. In the era of globalization, it not only equips individuals with knowledge and employability skills but also nurtures innovation, social responsibility, and cross-cultural understanding. This paper explores the evolution of higher education in India, the influence of globalization on its structure and pedagogy, and the challenges and opportunities it presents. It argues that higher education must evolve continuously to remain relevant in a globalized, technology-driven world while preserving national identity and cultural values.
