PERFORMANCE EVALUATION OF REINFORCED CONCRETE FRAMES UNDER SEISMIC LOADS
Abstract
The vulnerability of reinforced concrete (RC) structures during seismic events necessitates a comprehensive evaluation of their performance under dynamic loading. This study presents a detailed performance analysis of RC frames subjected to seismic forces using nonlinear static (pushover) and dynamic (time-history) analysis. Parameters such as base shear, displacement, inter-story drift, and plastic hinge formation are investigated. The results emphasize the critical importance of ductile detailing, lateral load-resisting systems, and retrofitting techniques in enhancing the seismic resilience of RC structures. Keywords: Reinforced Concrete Frame, Seismic Load, Pushover Analysis, Time-History Analysis, Structural Performance, Earthquake Engineering, Nonlinear Behavior.
