AN ANALYTICAL RESEARCH ON ADAPTIVE DESIGN STRATEGIES FOR CLIMATE RESILIENT ROAD INFRASTRUCTURE
Abstract
This paper examines adaptive design strategies for developing climate-resilient road infrastructure capable of withstanding extreme weather conditions. As climate change intensifies the frequency and severity of extreme weather events, traditional road design approaches are becoming increasingly inadequate. This research explores innovative materials, construction techniques, and design methodologies that can enhance the resilience of road networks in the face of flooding, extreme heat, freeze-thaw cycles, and other climate-related challenges. Case studies from different geographic regions are analyzed to identify best practices and lessons learned. The paper concludes with recommendations for policymakers and engineers on implementing adaptive design strategies to create more robust and sustainable road infrastructure.
