HUMAN-COMPUTER INTERACTION: ENHANCING ACCESSIBILITY THROUGH DESIGN
Abstract
This research paper explores the crucial intersection of Human-Computer Interaction (HCI), artificial intelligence (AI), and accessibility design, focusing on innovative approaches to enhance the user experience for individuals with diverse abilities. As technology becomes increasingly integrated into daily life, ensuring equitable access to digital interfaces is paramount. This study investigates current accessibility standards, emerging AI-driven technologies such as speech recognition systems, machine learning algorithms, natural language processing (NLP), computer vision, and assistive technologies like screen readers and voice assistants. It also delves into user-centered design methodologies to propose a comprehensive framework for developing more inclusive digital environments. These technologies are examined for their potential to address accessibility challenges and personalize user experiences. Through a combination of literature review, case studies, and original research, we analyze the challenges faced by users with various disabilities and propose novel, AI-powered solutions to address these issues. The paper culminates in a set of best practices and recommendations for designers, developers, and policymakers to create more accessible, intelligent, and user-friendly digital interfaces.
