Abstract
This review paper examines the crucial role of women in the national movements of Maharashtra from 1920 to 1947. It analyzes their participation in major campaigns, leadership in social reforms, and impact on the political landscape. The study highlights the challenges faced by women activists and their strategies to overcome societal and colonial barriers. By synthesizing existing research and identifying knowledge gaps, this review provides a nuanced understanding of women's agency in the national movement and its enduring impact on gender roles and social transformation in Maharashtra.
