REVIEW PAPER: QUALITY AND HUMAN RESOURCE MANAGEMENT IN PRECAST CONCRETE TECHNOLOGY
Abstract
Precast concrete technology has revolutionized the construction industry by offering faster, more efficient, and higher-quality production of structural elements. However, the successful implementation of this technology depends heavily on two critical components: Quality Management (QM) and Human Resource Management (HRM).Precast concrete technology has become an integral part of modern construction, offering numerous advantages such as speed, cost-efficiency, and sustainability. However, to fully realize these benefits, robust quality management is essential throughout the design, production, transportation, and installation phases. Human Resource Management (HRM) in precast concrete technology plays a critical role in ensuring the efficiency and success of production processes, as well as fostering innovation and maintaining competitive advantage. This paper reviews the key elements of quality management in precast concrete technology, including standardization, inspection protocols, risk management, quality control tools, and the challenges that affect the quality of precast products. The paper further discusses the role of innovation and technological advancement in enhancing quality management and concludes with recommendations for improving current practices. This paper also reviews the major elements of HRM specific to the precast concrete industry, such as workforce training, labor management, health and safety, organizational culture, and employee retention. The study also addresses the impact of technological advancements and automation on workforce dynamics and explores strategies for addressing skill shortages in the sector. Recommendations for enhancing HRM practices are provided based on current trends and industry needs.
