Abstract

Abstract: This study examines the relationship between compensation strategies, employee retention, and organizational sustainability in private universities in India. In an increasingly competitive higher education environment, attracting and retaining qualified faculty and administrative staff remains a significant challenge, positioning compensation as a strategic determinant of workforce stability. Drawing on perspectives from human resource management, organizational behavior, and educational administration, the research adopts a multidisciplinary approach. Using quantitative survey data and qualitative interviews across hierarchical levels, the study analyzes how structured and differentiated compensation systems influence employee satisfaction, commitment, and long-term retention. The findings highlight the importance of tailored remuneration frameworks in strengthening institutional performance and supporting sustainable organizational development within the private higher education sector.
