Abstract

Concrete is the most used construction material having basic ingredients as binding material, fine aggregate, coarse aggregate and water in predetermined proportion all the ingredients are homogeneously mixed to obtain resulting mixed of desired strength. In the present investigation, granite Chips, a waste material obtain from crusher plant is used as partial replacement of fine aggregate and add fly ash for different proportion .M15 and M20 grade of concrete was considered for this investigation with a final mix proportion of 1:2:4 and 1:1.5:3 at w/c ratio of 0.50. The replacement levels of natural corse aggregate with granite Chips were 5-30% at an interval of 5%. The compressive strength of specimens (150mm cubes) cast for different proportions of granite Chips was determined and compare the same with referral concrete. The result showed that the granite Chips can effectively been used as partial replacement of natural corse aggregate without compromising the compressive strength. Keywords: Concrete, compressive strength, fly ash, granite Chips, coarse aggregate.
