Abstract

In the 21st century A pollution-free environment is one of the major challenges. Most conventional remedial technologies are expensive and cause pollution of the environment. To eliminate this global problem, the bioremediation process used to cleanup with microbe-based, and phytoremediation, or plant-based cleanup, have gained much attention as effective low-cost and eco-sustainable alternatives to conventional remedial technologies for the cleanup of a broad spectrum of hazardous pollutants There are 17 goals for sustainable development started by the government. One of the goals is fulfilled by the remediation process which cleans the pollution from the water. The water is free from different pollutants, heavy metals and pesticides and it cleans with the help of macrophytes. Clean water is beneficial for humans because contaminated water affects human health and causes various types of diseases like diarrhea, skin disease etc. It is essential to remove the various types of pollutants from the water and get clean water. Keywords: Sustainable development, Phytoremediation, macrophytes, clean water, pollution.
